The picture shows basically what I'm thinking about and what some of you have already done. The auto vise that comes with the BD10 trim/slab saw restricts the height of the piece of rough I want to slab so I want to make or buy a template that would allow me to cut a 1/4" slab without using the vise. I'm asking for advice/suggestions/pictures from those of you who have done this.

1/4" template or 1/4" fence? Looks like you have one already.

1/4" template or 1/4" fence? Looks like you have one already. The piece of wood was placed there for demo purposes only. Just to give folks a little better idea of what I was talking about. If the "fence" method is used, I would have to use something to the left of the fence (e.g., two braces from the left as you are looking at the picture) to brace it and keep it from moving.
