Looks a bit like Tiffany Stone but it's definitely not charoite.

hey Scott, I sold my black light when I sold my grow op equipment LOL. Ok that was a joke. They are pretty easily found are they not? I should have one just on principle

fluorite should fluoresce under any UV Here is long wave same piece short wave same piece white light, not even a very nice specimen. source page

rockncajun is my best fluorescents friend. I hounded fluorescents with him in another thread. The gurus whom hosted us actually had three band setups. Short, medium, and long waves. The description as told was medium was best for many localities of calcite (and perhaps other minerals)... The most valuable (to me) minerals would be those that kickass in long wave. Then jewelry can be made for the raver party crowd. Imagine an mohs heart fluorescing in long wave at a party! sweet!

Tom, you use shortwave blacklight! I do not think that Charoite. I can not see the typical swirl lines. Colors Very homogeneous. it may be this Tiffany Stone ( utah)

Thank you everyone, I will put a shortwave lamp on my lists of goodies. I am marking my slabs Tiffany Stone and putting that to rest, I am not sure where I got the rough.
