It sure looks like fun, could spend a small fortune there. How do the Aussies get those huge slabs to shine like that? Those were my favorite pictures. Does anyone here shine rocks by hand? Just wondering how to get a shine on a huge piece like the pictures.

the price on the big slab was $7500--and was about an inch thick ( maybe a little more)--they probably use a wet polisher like we do on countertops I got to go out and actually touch it !!! WOW !! even better in person

Time spent looking at rocks, or pictures of rocks, is never wasted. (Or, searching for rocks, thinking about rocks, playing with rocks, cutting up rocks, etc.) I had a great time in QZ. Took your advice and went and saw Jodi and got a great deal on my first 16" slab saw. Met Glen Archer and all in all learned a lot. Thanks again for responding to my question on QZ . Also went on my first dig to Brenda my last day there. Jim, Wampidy , let me ride with him since my 18 wheeler couldn 't make the trip. Robin

Robin was a trip, so full of questions! She started following me around, so she could see what type of stuff I was looking at/picking up.
So glad to have met you, Robin. Loved hearing your stories, too. Too bad you couldn't make the field trip to the Planet Mine the next day, you'd have had a great time! Jean
