Yes, it looks the the old-time marcasite-in-agate from Nipomo, CA. I've cut quite a bit of it. The end product can be beautiful but get ready for some messy/stinky while cutting it.

Yep, Nipomo marcasite. Beautiful and valuable material but if it's not well agatized the metallic inclusions will sometimes rust. Moat however, hold up real fine and when polished. It's really cool stuff, especially when it contains those nice marcasite rosettes like your example does....Mel
