I see you borrowed some cheaters from Jim! haha. Every day in every way I strive to be like the illustrious jamespI wear distance contact lenses for driving and for everything close up I can't see sh*t without readers. Most of the time I'm walking around bumping into stuff in my garage because I'm wearing my optivisors everywhere

I want a pair of Tommy's cheaters so i can find rocks as pretty as his. At the top of the third picture looks like a long auger snail fossil cross section. Could be a symmetrical bubble formation or something but it sure looks like an auger snail Or some other critter

The white area of that rock shows a few hints of other fossils....

Rather than a snail, that section looks like a little lens of orb formations like you'd find in poppy jasper. You know, just a wild guess but with that green and purple and with those swirls, that just might be Kaleidoscope Jasper SP? *L*. It's a super variable jasper, that is very glassy and often has greens and purples.....Mel

Thank you guys - I'll try to shoot a closer-up picture of that area. Not sure when I can do it - work is killing me right now with long days dark-till-dark, but I'll try to post it before we leave for quartzite friday morn.

Here's a better close-up of the wanna-be poppy area. I don't think it sheds much light on anything but it's still pretty interesting.

I have seen some funky stuff very similar to that come from near Victorville, Ca. but no idea what it is called. I think I remember a Verde Antique quarry being somewhere in that vicinity, but this doesn't look like Verde. Perhaps some of the same or similar minerals though
