Sea Sediment Jasper Chalcopyrite?? Looks man made. I am OK with manmade, but it must be labelled if it is. Here is another of the "same materials" highly variable

They all look like treated/dyed materials to me, if not out right fakes. the second set of stones look similar to the "Mojave turquoise" composite that the colburgh people manufacture in Kingman. the only difference is that they use a brass binding/filler.

I bought Chinese materials similar to the material you called colbaugh. Turquoise powder in epoxy with some colored matrix, including metals. Lots of this stuff on etsy too! $4.50 cabochon on etsy? Must be made with native labor overseas. Etsy's original concept of hand made products sold by the makers is ancient history it seems.

Not a fan of the man made stuff myself but to each his own. For the most part, I find the colors a little garish....Mel

There is a dealer that sells some like that around here he calls it Sea Foam Jasper. It comes in several colors. I'm sure it is ether man made or dyed or both. He seems to sells a lot of it.

Saw pallets and pallets of this stuff back behind Prospector's Panorama in Quartzsite, all different colors and flavors. Didn't check the price per pound, but they certainly did not try to hide that it was man-made. Even listed content - so much crushed rock, so much epoxy (or polymer, whatever it was binding it).
I have a couple pieces of the Mojave Turquoise (one each of blue and purple), bought from Mary Ann and Ralph (Stones That Rock) in Quartzsite several years ago. They look nice, but think I'll stick to the real thing.

I've been making that and sending it to China. Made in USA and sold out of China. The new way. LOL.
