Hey Gang:
Anyone heading up to the Stoddard Wells Tailgate Show this year (http://www.vvgmc.org/tailgate)? Last year was a bust as far as rockhounding field trips go - we didn't get out once, then my Land Cruiser's transmission goes, then my Intrepid's eletrical system fails, and a myriad of other health, family and job issues show up. My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is seeing us through everything but it was an exciting year, to say the least.
So ... I'm hoping to kick off this year with getting back to the show's, maybe a trip to the OceanView mine, and some field trips out to the desert.
Anyway, hoping to see folks out there!
Thanks Paul Shiroma

We'll probably haul a load of rocks out there. Christopher was planning on selling their too. If the weather is nice it is a great show.

Hey Paul, sounds like your year went better than mine. We love this tailgate show. Like a mini Quartzsite. Hope to see you there. CA always has nice weather!

Excellent ... It would be great to see you guys. The holidays and school schedule make it difficult for us to get out to the Quartzsite show so this show usually kicks off the rockhounding year for us.
John, I saw photos of you in BlueSky (Susan's) Quartzsite post. Hope the show went well for you!
Larry, I've been following the posts you and Diane have put up. Looks like you two are doing well.
Thanks Paul

Sounds like a great place to be on a fine California weekend. 261 miles is a piece of cake and it might be a good start to my migration north.
See old friends and meet new rock people. Not sure I can handle three more days around John and Susana though. Is it possible to laugh too much? Sorry I missed you (twice) John. If I do not see you here I will be looking forward to meeting again next year at Q. Jim

Usually, I hit up Christopher's booth and John's Nimitz-Class RV for rocks and equipment. Not quite sure how John gets the RV up there...
Jim it would be great to finally meet you!

Hi Paul! I'll probably go on the Saturday. Gotta get out of town to get some geocaches anyway!

We typically go on Saturday as well although I have to check the basketball schedule. Might be Sunday after church. We'll find out.

I be there with a lot of rose quartz, and buckets of chapinite, and 100 pound piece, plus a few more boulders for the sphere makers.

Save some of your rose quartz for me. I'm interested. All our female friends and relatives are crazy over it and need to make more cabs for them. We'll most likely be there on Friday, beat the crowds.

I won't take the RV this year. I think I'll load rock on my car trailer and haul it there and leave the trailer and commute home at night. If anyone needs blades, wheels, etc. be sure to let me know ahead of time so I can have it with me.

Right on, hoping to see you up there Bill and John!
I'm also trying to get a bunch of the families from my Bible Study together for the trip up. Several of the kids are interested in rocks and would definitely enjoy this one!

I recall Christopher owing you gold ... but my memory is ... what was this about?
Looking forward to seeing you all. We might be up there Sat morning only as Andrew has a game Sat afternoon.
