They look nice from what I can tell from the pics. How were they to tumble?

Those look really good. What's the difference between apache tears and obsidian?

Great one to tumble. But tricky to get a shine. Well done.

Really nice man! It's pretty cool to see the background reflected in the surfaces of the tears.

Really nice man! It's pretty cool to see the background reflected in the surfaces of the tears. That makes tears special. No cracks too, just clear black glass. And they are about round naturally.

Nice looking batch. I have some tears going in the lot-o right now that should finish up this weekend. I think mine are much smaller like 1/2" diameter and under.

Good batch you have there. They are difficult to get a shine on with a rotary, but do far better in a vibratory tumbler. Part of the problem with them, is that they will chip easily. But, they can turn out very well with the right equipment.

how were they to tumble you ask.....not to bad...of course getting shape in rough is easy....but that is where it takes a turn. once you reach 500 grit it needs special care.....once in 500...i use the special sauce (coming soon)....and with obsidian you cannot go from 500 grit to polish....must throw in extra step of 1000....a must in rotary. i do not know if this refers to vibes....i just decided to tackle some of the hardest stuff to tumble in rotary tumblers....just to see. . will give more info later....not a lot of time at the moment...thanks folks....kev.

Kev looks like you get to graduate to "master shiner" ---now it's your turn to answer all the questions until you teach someone else to shine like that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!good job on those and the fluorite
