Hey Yall this is my first post on here wanted to say hi. I am currently overseas but interested in this forum. I have been a rock hound my whole life with flintknapping being my specialty. I have however been getting interested in cabbing and polishing. I plan on getting some lapidary equipment when I get home. I want to polish up some stone and shape up flint and obsidian preforms for the Flake Over Grinding technique for knapping. Anyway look forward to learning and seeing whats out there in this community. Heres some pics of myself and some lapiz I picked up from the local bazaar. This stuff is readily available here.

Welcome aboard ejfree, from a retired Navy guy.
Open a photoshop account. Put your pics on there. Copy the IMG codes of your pics, and paste them on here.

Right, the site doesn't allow direct upload, but you can use photobucket or other photo sharing sites and do as Don says.

Hi ejfree and welcome to the forum. Stock up on all the Lapis you can! I bet you could make a bit of profit by shipping some of us a few pounds:-) A few years ago I heard service members say that bombing Taliban hideouts had opened up lots of Lapis deposits over there

11Welcome to the madness!!!! & Thank you for your service and we hope to see pics!!
Most definitely ship home Lapis Lazuli & K2, if you should find any... it's great stuff to work with and selling it can get you your lapidary equipment in a hurry. I figure about 150 pounds of each will be enough to get everything you need for your lapidary endeavors and have a few dollars left over for some nice pretties for the wife/GF... like a house, boat, car, and a couple rings!!!
but seriously.. be safe and we can't wait to see pics.....

Welcome to the forum. I was going to ask if any the rock over there was worth picking up, but after reading the responses, I see that it is. I don't even know what k2 jasper is.
I know a lot of people here like photobucket, but I prefer flickr. They have almost unlimited storage for free and it's easy to get picture links. You need to hit the share button (it's a rectangle with an arrow coming out of it under the picture) and choose the BB code. Copy and paste that here.
