A local club member came to see me today and asked me to polish this obsidian for him. In trade, I can pick out rocks from his newly acquired estate purchase that this rock came out of. I am praying that there are more of these old stock Mexican Rainbow obsidian in his 30 buckets of mixed rock. I seriously almost fainted when spraying this stone with a water bottle. Neon colors exploded and I've never seen rainbow like this before....... EVER!!!!!

How are you going to jam that beauty into your tumbler? Are you doing it on a grinder? Are you cutting it?

How are you going to jam that beauty into your tumbler? Are you doing it on a grinder? Are you cutting it? Rob, I'm just polishing only, no cutting or grinding out crevices, Bruce wants little to no material loss. It barely fits through the opening on my Lot-O so I will fill the barrel completely full of ceramics and run this piece by itself. I might need to do a couple runs on 220 though to completely smooth out any jagged edges.

Wow that is pretty! I've been using your recipe Krystee on some apache tears and snowflake obsidian. They have come out brilliant. My prior attempts not using the recipe had so-so results. The recipe rocks. I can't wait to see this pretty one when it's finished.
