I did not expect what I found. I saw a little bit of amethyst up there but did not expect to find that the geode I found was made of it. 15 pounds after most of the country rock was removed.

It actually has a fracture running the circumference of it.
I think I am going to wait until I talk to some of the experts at the next meeting to decide if I should crack it open or sell it off.
As it stands, I have it in a safe place so no one can try to swipe it.

Anyhow, pics dont do it justice, I already know that! Is it amethest for sure or could it be lepidolite?

It is definitely amethyst. I have small pieces of it that calved off in cleaning.

Went to the rock club meeting tonight. Everyone was awed by it.
I think I am probably going to put it on Ebay and sell it off.
