These are some agates from a precious opal mine in Virgin Valley Nevada that I am tumbling up 25 pounds of for the owner. All sorts of variety down there, and a whole lot of them look blue!!! Just doing the rough grinds as he does not want them fully polished and worn away, so they will go in 220 grit as soon as I have enough of them ready.

Nice to have the hookup, I actually just emailed an opal mine up there about "other" stones that they may be finding while digging for opals so hopefully I hear something back soon!!

Neat! A buddy of me found some awesome carnelian up at Virgin Valley too.....Mel I will have to ask him where the Carnelian is, I know he does have to chisel it out of the rocks from time to time, but I forgot and am now gonna bust him on it since we are doing an 80 him 20 me split and I think I am doing much more work than I figured on LOL

Yeah, 25 lbs lol.....first 18 lbs are almost done with the coarse grind already too.....agates on agates with some silicon carbide grit between sure does seen to shape them amazingly fast....will most likely do the next course of grit in the lot-o but not too sure lol

Some of them look like they have opal in them? Not that I have found, he sorted the opals and woods off so they would not be destroyed by the agates...maybe a loose very small piece or two that I have seen, but they are serious food for the agate so they dont stay too long in the tumble.
