Dad thought all my tumbling problems where because of weight, would this work small amout of rocks and the rest plastic bbs?
that's just some of the used bbs I was gonna use more to make it 3/4th full.....to reduce the weight if that's why my barrel wont keep spinning

Im gonna wait for advice cause I am out of coarse grit, just fine grit and some pre polish and polish......its driving me crazy not tumbling, I thought id just see what happened doing it like this with fine grit....but its not worth losing more grit and screwing up my rocks if it would be a bad idea

Im not sure if this would make it start spinning again continuously basically, I don't want to beat my tumbler like a dead horse if that's what it is

If those rocks are still at the stage requiring course grit, I'd wait until you have some available or you will just be wasting your finer grit. Also I have found if I don't fill a barrel to about 2/3 full of rocks, I get a sliding action in the barrel rather than tumbling, which is not what you want. I can't help thinking that might happen here with your lighter plastic BBs. Hope that is some help, probably not what you want to hear though!
Regards Ian

Dont waste your fine grit, send me your address and I will send you a bag of coarse grit....use just general junk gravel as filler and just dont load it too heavy ya know?!?!?!

I would say you need to look at tightening up your belt or get a new belt if you are slipping, the weight of the barrel should be of little consequence.

Thanks everyone, well I just managed to get the belt off about to attempt to replace it......I accidently took one of the screws onthe outside all the way out of the motor and the frame I hope I didn't mess anything up, I got it screwed back in I think...I took a pic of this though....does it look normal?

I may have fixed it, not sure I replaced the belt......those orings where actually belts....I stripped another screw doing it but I noticed that it has a flat head option...so ill still be able to adjust it I think.....I gripped the turning part that the barrel sits on and it wouldn't stop or slip.........tomorrow im gonna put in enough rocks to fill to 3/4th again just with water to see how it turns for a day before I worry about grit......sound smart? just want to make sure shes running again with just water

Just use ordinary crushed gravel as filler if you need it, those bb's will just float and give you pretty much no benefit....you want a sliding action remember, not a banging thumping action, get the slurry nice and thick and you'll be off n rolling!!!!!
