I didn't get any suggestions for Taos, so I guess I'll have to drive to the RHSP, has anyone been there?

I've camped there. Pretty but stark country but I love the desert. Was pretty hot when we were there. Rocks were pretty picked over and we didn't find much but we enjoyed the campsite. Back then you could camp and hunt eggs at the Baker Ranch and that was a nice but primitive campsite. Liked Pancho Villa Park down by Columbus even better. Bird watching down that way was great.....Mel

Been there, it's about an hour and half from my house. There is a lot of jasper. Mostly orange. If you hike up towards the top (the people at the visitor center will point out the area)you can still find some stuff. We found a few thunder eggs. I believe you can still head over towards Bakers, but we didn't know about it. Ask the people at the desk for sure. It's a nice little park, great views, worth a trip!

Thanks for the reply guys. I guess the truth is that the only way to find good quality finds is to look here, both for rocks and for people too!
