While in Qtz I went to one of the reputable dealers from this forum to buy 60/90 S/C grit.He either was out or didn't carry that product and let him talk me into taking some green stuff that was to be 80 grit.I have I'm sure, tumbled 1/2 ton or more of rocks over the years, I have a system that works well for me.I tried this stuff (notice I didn't call it grit) After 3 weeks several grit changes my lake superior agates look the same as when I started, I normally run them 2 weeks if 2nd grade agates longer for 1st grade agates where I am looking for selling perfection.
I am not disappointed with the dealer he is there to sell, his idea of the same may not be what I think. I am mad at myself to knowing what works for me and being talked into something else. The few dollars is not a problem ( in Qtz monies seem to take on a different value, $80 for a slab, why sure)The month I have wasted and now either paying freight from Rio or somewhere or waiting 2 month for a show to buy is maddening.
There I have ranted, happy grinding and tumbling.

Have you tried Kingsley North? They sometime have deals on shipping when buying 50# or more

If you have an industrial supply or abrasive supply in your area, give them a call. We just bought 80 grit for $1.65/lb. in 50lb. bag at Kleen-Blast in Portland, OR.
