I need a good vise/clamp for coin cutting (piercing) and this one is perfect, but I can't find anything remotely like it on the internet. It would help if I knew the correct name or terminology. Do any of you know what it is called? The vertical handle at the rear actuates the clamp and would be perfect for piercing!

It's a woodworkers bench clamp. sometimes called a bench dog. Take the pic to any woodworkers supply house and ask them. Not cheap.

That's what I thought too, but a Google search turned up nothing resembling this thing. I even pulled up Grizzly tool catalog and can find dogs of different types, but nothing like this

Also a welder's production jig clamp. Adjust it with screw and then tighten lock nut.

It wouldn't be hard for you to modify one if you have a power drill. Make the jaws out of oak or maple. The jaws close parallel on this type of clamp. Just cut your bottom jaw out of the same piece of wood that you mount the clamp to. The top jaw is the only one that will move. Just drill two holes through the top jaw an inch or so apart. Counterbore the holes from the bottom to hide your bolt heads. Use one nut above the top jaw, and a nut above and below the movable metal jaw. Make adjustments by loosening and adjusting the nuts at the top jaw.

WE use that type of clamp in lifting fixtures in the Blacksmith shop where I work. They are called Destaco clamps I believe.
Try Googling that.

The vertical bench clamp is sold out, and no longer being manufactured. It's a shame too. It would have been ideal for pierced work.

Bummer. But I saw lots of others there that could be adapted fairly easily.

Rockler sure does like money. I got a $20.00 groupon for $10.00 and I still could have purchased the same stuff somewhere else for less.
