Howdy folks, Here are few pics of yesterday's cuts. Thanks for lookin.....Mel Finally got around to cutting a bit on the big hunk of palm fiber I found last year. Started on the end with a fracture so what I have left after these is all solid. Color came out a bit weird too. More red brown in it than the pic shows. Don't have this color in my palm collection so darn, I guess I'll have to cut me a cab. Palm as usual, really dulls a saw blade to naturally, had to cut more Devil's Toenails to sharpen the blade up. Little different color than the usual orangish stuff. My big happy dance maker of the day. This piece of wood was dark on the exterior and showed no pattern but turned out to be the type of shrinkwood Matt Dillon calls "painted wood". Most showing this pattern is in browns and tans but occasionally you get one that really pops with color.

I like the palm, and toenails, but I can see why the painted shrinkwood is so prized. Good finds. Robert
