I've found when using the Lotto with obsidian that the secret is to stuff the barrel just as full as you possibly can - to the point where you don't see how there can be any action. Make sure to jam pieces up under the top section. Shake its down and stuff in more pieces. Don't worry you'll still get plenty of rolling action. The point is that you want sliding action, not banging action.

Another quick point, the instructions that come with the Lotto say to run in polish for 24 hours. Pay attention to this, especially for obsidian. If you run obsidian too long in polish you will actually knock the polish off. Obsidian is one of the exceptions to the general rule that longer is better when tumbling.

Crap, had forgotten that I had that tute already, appreciate the advice @shotgunner, and Steve I stuffed it to the point that the top keeps popping off.....also chock full of ceramic pellets on top of that.

I also tried the Apache Tears way of polishing as instructed in the directions which came with the Lot-o, a lot of water and little bit of polish for 48 hours, gonna do Krystee's way from here on out. I see her stones on Facebook all the time, and she is like the Obsidian Wizard LOL
