To celebrate American Independence Day I thought I'd post an image of the only agate nodule I've ever cut that's red, white and blue...well, kinda' blue. I have to thank our Australian friends: it came in a parcel of rough nodules from Queensland's famous Agate Creek. It has patterns I've never seen before and is totally solid -- no fractures. It appears previous fractures have been healed with colorful material that creates a unique pattern. Hope everyone has a wonderful -- and safe! -- July 4 holiday. July 4th Nodule:
