Hi Rockers! Does anybody know what speed to run a multi-speed Dremel when using sc sanding discs, i have sanding discs that run from 80grit to 4000 grit but i don`t know what speed to use from the saw marks to the polish,There`s a book that came with my Dremel tells what speed to use with the grinding stones but that`s it. All help is appreciated....Rocky

OH Wait a min- those disks- are they waterproof- if not then slow it down- on the multispeed- probably the lowest setting (to avoid excessive heat build up- it's all about heat!)

I run mine wide open........noob question about the grit? I just got 30 pieces of 150 grit and 30 pieces of 400 grit diamond burr dremel heads. Which one of the two is the courser? The 150 grit? They feel almost the same. So close, I can't tell by feel. (sorry to interrupt the original post with a silly question) But it does pertain to dremel tools, and speeds.

Rocky,
I got them off of ebay. It was like 5.95 or 6.95 for the 30 pieces. I bid, I won. Then I noticed the seller had #400 grit burrs too...diamond coated.
So I sent him an email and said I wanted a 400 set also, and could he ship it for one shipping charge instead of two. He agreed, gave me the option of bidding on another set, or buying now. I bought now.
All in all the whole thing (60 pieces) + shipping was less than $17.00 and the man shipped them FAST. I am very happy about the purchase.
Pretty sure the seller was "freedomky" on ebay. (very close) He had plenty of sets, go get you some. I am happy. Tried them out last night on one of my bigger emeralds with getting away the matrix and the harder "grey" stuff. Worked like I a charm. However, I need to devise someway of clamping down the emerald while I work on them with the dremel, and get much better lightling.
And must force myself to wear a face mask, and safety glasses.
