Hi, Here is a selection from my latest batch of locally found/cut and or polished agates. I have tried a different method of photography, rather than using my canon 24-105 zoom lens, I have used a 50mm with a "Raynox" attachment I forgot I had! This basically gives me a macro ability I didn't have with the 24-105 zoom, and means I don't have to crop my photos as much, which should give greater detail. The fixed 50mm lens means that some rocks didn't fit the frame at the focal length and I cant do my usual two halves side by side presentation but overall I think it is an improvement in quality. Let me know what you think. 1) Big bluey grey brown 2) Fortification agate with quartz Other half of above 3) Jasp-agate slabbed 4) 5) The lines in the centre of these halves are healed fractures. I love this pair. 6) Big brown agate 7) 8) Eyes 9) 10) Red n green 11) Pink cloud 12) Flame 13) I like this one... 14) Small eyes 15) 16) 17) Other half of same 18) Again the dark lines here are healed fractures. A small pit which I missed in tumbling shown at the end of the healed fracture! Another view of the same rock 19) Whites and pinks on this one. Other side 20) Reds Other side 21) Pink And other side of same rock 22) Reds Other side of same 23) 24) Other side 25) Different colours in this 26) 27) 28) 29) Other view 30) 31) 32) Smalls round up 33) 34) Amethyst in this one Thanks for looking!

These definitely have the WOW! factor. Beautiful colors and patterns skillfully treated. I also think that the photography does indeed show great detail. Nice work!

oh such color and variety. I love all the pastels! #1 makes me think of the ocean, waves upon the sand... #19 is my favorite... just so appealing. 10 and 13 have such interesting forms, and that amethyst one that's last is a real knock your socks off showpiece! They are all wonderful. I just love to see what you post ( don't stop!)

The show got better as scrolled down. Hit the reds and had to go take a nitro pill. Darn agate is an international language. You are one Scottish fellow I can interpret Ian

I knew Scotland produced some fine agates. Yours are exceptional! I like your new photo method too. They're all really great.
