Here's my latest batch of mixed rock. This batch had some interesting stuff in it. this turritella was different then any I had seen before. super solid with a very smooth feel and took a glass shine. I think it has a lot more matrix and less shells then what I am used to. my son bought all of these for $5 but they were very low quality cabs. The tumbler fixed them up nicely. Jaspers agate I really screwed up and forgot I had this rock from the competition in this batch. I should have used this for the competition but I had already sent my rocks in. tiger eye unknown misc. some graveyard point and I think some coral at top left montanta agates Thanks for looking Chuck

Excellent. Question, It appears that you did a few cabs and tumbled them. This has always been a question of mine.. Can one cab a stone then tumble polish without distorting the shape?

Yep, I have cabs in just about every batch. Only works in a vibe tumbler and I only do it with hard materials like jaspers and agates. Here's my favorite batch of tumbled cabs I have done in the lot-o tumbler forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/62290/cabs-crosses-completed-10-7Chuck

Mixed batches are a favorite of mine. The cabs , Montanas, and that unknown really rock me. Super tumble! Thanks for the show.

Yet another awesome batch. I love the Montanas, the tiger eye, and the contest rock the best.

Sweet tumbles, Chuck! What is your 4th cab listed in the above link? It is gorgeous!! Will tumbling cabs in the vibe remove scratches from them?

Sweet tumbles, Chuck! What is your 4th cab listed in the above link? It is gorgeous!! Will tumbling cabs in the vibe remove scratches from them? The short answer is yes the vibe tumbler will remove scratches. I use 120/220 as my first stage and that will get rid of the scratches but I will warn you that it will also slightly round the edges of the girdle. In some cases I will go back and clean up just the girdle on the wheels after tumbling. You really need to use a lot of ceramic when tumbling cabs. I go with 50/50 between rocks/cabs and ceramic. I never got a good I.D. on the cab you asked about so I can't help on that one. Chuck

The jaspers are really nice, but that Montana is a beauty. It's so nice to look at beautifully tumbled stones.
