Before I get started I just wanted to say thanks to stardiamond for the generosity. The box I got from him came fast and was stuffed to the brim with some beautiful stuff, hopefully I'll be able to do it justice. As soon as it got here I opened it up and started running them under water to get a good look at the material. Most of it I was able to identify (either right off the bat or with the help of google) but a bunch I can not and would appreciate some help. I could ask him but thought you all might like a shot at it, I know I had fun identifying them. Thanks in advance for any help So without further ado: These 2 look like the same material and the other two pics all share the same teal-green color but probably not the same material Not sure about these two but man oh man that green No clue on these Dendritic agate? Not sure of this top one but the bottom one and the next pic remind me of rocky butte but the green is more more rich in tone than what I've seen before so I question whether it is or not Palm root(?) and an unknown Not sure (maybe burro creek?) but the purple is stunning, I'd love to see what he made from this Last but not least... another dendritic agate? This bottom one is so much nicer in person, I'm probably going to polish it as is and display it on a shelf. It's so gorgeous!

Cool slabs! First ones are Tahoma Agate. Green ones could be Morrisonite. Red agate with fortification is Brenda agate. One above the palm root is Owyhee jasper, black and white dendritic might be Parral Dendritic or might be Valley Springs stuff from Snyders......Mel

The one you think is Burro Creek is Burro Creek. The piece that I sent was the trim piece of the cab I cut. I have some more of the same or from the same piece. I can't find the cab. It might not look like the slab and it will turn up sometime.
I have hard time throwing away anything I think I might use later. I pulled out everything that I wan't going to work on and made up lots.

I'm looking forward to playing around with all this stuff. Some I can do by hand, others need to wait (and motivate me to save up for a grinder/polisher) a few of the thicker pieces I can stick in the tumbler. I'll definitely post what I do with them as they are finished. Thanks again

The bottom slab in the third photo and the fifth and sixth photo look a lot like Spanish Point Dendritic agate from west of Shell Wyoming. Guessing though. I will try to find a photo of a piece later. If it is it is from a long time ago because the miner has been dead for a long time and his brother and nephew are not doing anything with it. Jim

I found the Burro Creek cabs. The colors in the cabs are a little lighter than the picture. Not very interesting shapes but you can see the polish.

In the 4th pic the red one could be Coprolite

Spanish Point Dendritic Agate It was mined with explosives so most is fractured real bad. One or two cabs from a big slab. Jim

Haven't ever seen Spanish Point Dendritic agate before, @wampidy. Pretty stuff! Wonder why the forum has you posting as a guest?
