www.therockshed.com/instructions1.html#Rotarythose look like 12 or 15 lb barrels. Follow the chart at first. If you have a lot left after a week, yet you did get thick mud, then you can cut back. If it is all gone after 3-4 days and slurry is thin, you need a bit more. You can dump the slurry on some concrete and gently put water to wash the mud. If you see dark grit left, you know it did not all get used up.

Also, don't pour the slurry down the drain!! It will turn into cement inside the pipes.

Is there a rubber sleeve of some type over the shafts? I am going to be making a simular tumbler in the near future. I hadn't considered using a chain to drive the rest of the shafts but I could work that out HMMMM

that's the tumbler set up I want! What's the HP of the motor on it? I've been designing one very similar to that, even with the chain drive.

I think those are 20 pounders or larger, the top ones may be 40 pounders. Even the small one has the bolt tops.

It has a 1/3 hp motor and it has rubber sleeves on the shafts. I also have 2 drums that are twice as big as the ones in the picture. I got the 16in saw going today and cut some picture jasper ;D it cuts sweet. Keith

As a general rule one heaping Tablespoon full of grit for each pound of rock will give a good slurry.
That should wear out in a week...Then it is time to do it again. You will want to run a least two or more weeks in course. After course run your other grits about 7-10 days.
Polish should be about a heaping teaspoon full...let it run for a week or two.
Others here have recipes that work great. I usually run mine through the vibe after course.
