I fired up my Lot-O for the first time yesterday. The lid keeps vibrating off every 15 minutes or so. I am certain it's not a build up of gas. Anyone else have this problem and how did you fix it? My only thoughts were to drill a small hole on each side of the cap and bowl and put a nail through but I don't want to ruin the bowl either.

I took a file and cut a small groove in the bottom of each corner of the metal sides, for the bungee end to catch in, then criss crossed a couple of small bungees over the cap. Problem solved..........MrP

I have only had it pop off beause I had it too full and a large rock would push it off. However, now I'm worried it will do it again, so I attached three large rubber bands together and I hook it on the little bump on the bottom of the barrel, up around the top, and back onto the bottom of the barrel. It's really easy and doesn't require any drilling or filing.

I use two T-head pins and poke them through the lid and into the barrel at an angle.has worked for 2yrs with no ill effects to the bowl or lid Dave

I use painters tape. Best fix was new lids from The Rock Shed. They fit better.

This is a brand new Lot-O from the Rock Shed. It's just the design of the lid, nothing to keep it from vibrating off. Are the Rock Shed lids aftermarket where they fit tighter? I had some rubber bands lying around so that's what I am going with for now. Seems to be doing the job.

I'm still using my original lid from almos three years ago without many problems. I wonder if you got a bad lid?

X2 on the bungee cord. I have always used them on mine. Nice paint job on your cinder block Chuck

I've had my Lot-O for about a year. I put a small hole in the top of the cap. This helps prevent the build up of gas and seems to work 99% of the time.
I like the rubber band idea too!

mine gave me fits at first, then I stopped loading quite as much rock in it and it only does it off and on, I think the lip of the lot-0 and the inside of the lid have both got a few little scratches and rock dust on them now and that gives more texture so the lid has more gripping power. good ideas for a fix.

One of my Lot-O's is over 15 years old and the lid started coming off. I fixed it by attaching 2 small bungee chords to a "split ring"'''like the ones used for keys,,,, I put the split ring over the "nub" at the bottom of the barrel and attach the 2 bungee chords to it.I squeezed the ends of the bungee chords closed so they won't fall off. I take the unattached ends,,slip them through the frame(not over it) and connect them together at the top of the lid. This is a VERY poor drawing but I don't have a good computer program for doing drawings,,,,don't have a very steady hand either,,,, connrock
