Any definitive way to id other than where it was found? If it is Horse Canyon, is this a good color? The other good Hrose Canyon I got was more blue green. Thanks

I had pieces similar in the horse canyon bucket I recently sold.
regarding quality, I have only ever owned 100# or so, but have witnessed countless others online. There are two seam materials there that make my eyes bug out. Green moss and gold moss.
Beauty is in the eye and mind of the beholder.

I had to trim the seam off both sides to see what I had which turned out to be not much. This piece of 5 x 4 x 3. Tahoma is almost the same way. You can get a thick piece and cut slabs or have to deal with the seams. Sometimes there are two or three different layers between the matrix and the pieces can only be cut the long way. A lot of saw work to get anything and still maybe not very good for cabbing. I don't know when I got this rock.

Well, I didn't try to definitively ID your specimen. That isn't possible. My answer was "it could be" from horse canyon because I saw similar stuff in my bucket full recently.
Good luck with your purchases! I hope they turn out to be gems!

I understand. There are some rocks where it is pretty clear and others where there a lot of variations. I've got a few Horse Canyon cabs that I didn't cut. I bought some small rough from a very reputable non ebay dealer. I'll slab it and maybe learn more.
