I have been doing quite a bit of slabbing but have neglected taking pics until recently. I need to dig out some of the others and photograph them but these will be more than enough for one post.
First up is a rock that my son informed me is a rock that was his that he had been saving. OOPS. I have run across quite a few pieces of this type of stone and could not guess what it was until now. You will see in the first pic that it looks like a turd and it is the first piece of this material that was big enough for me to see that.
The next two pics look to me like coprolite now that I know what the outside looks like.
Another new find for me is brecciated Montana agate. I have found thousands of small Montana agates so I was surprised to see this. It looks like it was filled in with yellow common opal like is found in Idaho. Side by side they look exactly the same. This piece was so small that all I could do was try to smooth up both sides. It probably has some fractures because the outside was pretty rough.
Next is several different stones that look like a red moss agate. Whether it is moss or not I do not know but they are some pretty pretty rock.
Two cab wonder with fractures. One side is going to be small but too good to toss.
Three cab wonder. First is dry.
Different but the same more or less. Larger stone that I actually got slabs out of.
Weird little rock.
? Red, pink and green granite.
? Green, red and pink granite.
This weighed heavy like nephrite and I really like the light green with the dark stripe.
Some really bright green ? nephrite and feldspar. Could be one of the other thousand green stones.
I noticed a large chunk of thulite that looked different than all the others so I decided to cut it. Surprised and really happy because this piece has some really awesome pattern to it that the others have not had. Should make some great rings.
Hope you enjoyed the show and please do not toss your popcorn bags on the floor when you go to bed.
