... In Flanders Fields by John McCrae, May 1915 In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.

Thank you to all our veterans. Days like this it feels very good to have all the support everybody is willing to give when sometimes if not all the time the memories are still lingering whether good or bad and always thinking about those who are still on the physical battlefield then returning to a whole new battle. I have great respect for those who support our armed service members, past an present. Thank you again to all who have served and sacrificed.

Wouldn't you know the scammers would be out today ? Got a phone call earlier from the American Veterans Support Foundation. Hung up and googled them. Last record of this "Organization" was in 2001. At that time only 14% of the money they took in actually went to help Vets. Beware of who you give to. If the name doesn't sound familiar, hang up and google the name of the organization.

That's exactly why I won't answer my cellphone if I don't recognize the number. Same goes with text messages. Scammers are getting smarter and if you answer from a cellphone they could gain access to your phone within a few seconds and steal private information ie card numbers banking and passwords. I personally don't trust anybody who solicits my phone. Leave a voicemail if its important. A friend of mine calls them all back and harrasses them non-stop until he is satisfied. Those scum that are exploiting veterans and elderly shouldn't have a right to even share the air we breathe.

i have been busy moving everything from the lake back home...camper..watercraft and stuff for the winter.
but i had to stop by and wish all the veterans and folks serving a happy veterans day.
some of us here have sons/daughters/fathers/wifes etc....serving....and in battle as i type this...i pray for them daily.
some of our folks go on missions that 99.99 percent of the world will never know about...i know one of those people.
when i got home today...i was met at my door by my son...he was home... at least for a few hours...on veterans day.
he has now left heading back to another continent...hopefully little girls will be safer.
thanks each and all for your service past and present....kev.
