And 1/2... So on Craigslist... She listed the tumbler for $300. Ended up getting it for 175. When she delivered it I seethe second contraption and I said "looks like you've got part of another tumbler her" and she says,"I had a friend who knows about this stuff look at it and he said its all there"... I explained to her that there was a complete tumbler and a part of another an she basically looked at me like I was crazy... And didn't say anything...?? So I loaded them up... Anyhow... Just need a little motor and a drum and I've got another!! I have a couple friends that want to get into tumbling... So the 1/2 tumbler will get some attention soon!!

They do look good. I have to rewire the switch and the rubber stuff on the drive shafts is in bad shape with electrical tape wrapped all around.
They are not huge... or lets just say the drums are not huge, they are right about the same size as my Lortone 12#. Which is fine. I definitely am not tumbling enough to need bigger drums... And... I could see how buying grit will get ugly....

Thank you, I'll check into it. I haven't compared them to my Lortone 12 yet... but its possible you are right... they are not much different though.

Thanks!

So... how big of motor do I need to have to get this other running? 1/4? 1/2? Thanks! You will want a 1/2hp motor. I currently have a slab saw project going, with an extra motor that might work. I won't know which one I can have available until I get the pulley from Lortone. Send me a message.

So... how big of motor do I need to have to get this other running? 1/4? 1/2? Thanks! What size motor was on the double barrel in the first photo? I have been running my homemade with as much as 48 pounds of rock in multiple barrels with a 1/3 hp for years non stop. I does not even hesitate when I turn it on from a dead stop fully loaded. If the motor you need is for that single barrel tumbler and you are only running a 15 pound barrel I would be getting a 1/4 hp to save some electricity. Lortone only puts a 1/3 hp on their commercial 40 pounder MODEL: C40 Our best high capacity tumbler with lifetime construction. 40 lb. capacity steel barrel with replaceable neoprene liner. Includes barrel, belt guard & 1/3 HP overload protected motor with switch. Barrel ID: 9" across flats x 11 7/8" deep. Chuck
