with Thanksgiving only a few days away, I am counting my blessings. I have food in my belly and a roof over my head, family and friends, for the things I am still able to do when the list of "don'ts" gets longer as I age. I am grateful that we were able to retire when for so long we thought it was a dream that could not come true. I am grateful to be in beautiful Michigan! I am grateful to have personal time now, and time to learn. I am grateful for the internet, which is such a huge source of information. I am old enough to remember when we got information only from books, radio, and tv. The internet is so much faster than going to the library, and so much more specific. I am thankful to RTH forum and its members for the past 8 months of advice, support, rock identification, rocks cut and slabs sent back to me, rock trades, cabs and jewelry sent to me, and all the wonderful gestures of help and friendship, for the learning and for your valuable time spent helping me to do so. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Having gotten too old to hunt for my own, I'm thankful for a couple of trusted mineral sellers on ebay. I may not be able to dig them, but at least I can still study them and learn.
Also thankful for the friends I've made on this and a couple other forums, my wife, the roof over my head, a full belly and a warm dog to curl up in my lap.
