Thanks for sharing the article, snowmom. We discussed the dino poo auction on another forum. Interesting that it's siderite. Guess the winner doesn't get a refund?

I doubt it, the softened siderite squeezed through a knothole sounds like it must be pretty unusual, too... maybe even more rare than dino poop?

I agree. They were not false poo. They never were coprolites. Just someone overly zealously identified them as coprolites on the basis of appearance, a not always reliable guide. A lot of things look like crap that aren't, and then again somethings that shouldn't be crap, are. Go figure. Tom
