Hi, I have an ultra vibe 10mb. The bowl capacity is 4 lbs. I just bought an extra bowl for polish only. The problem is that I can't secure the top with the washer and wing nut. The center screw is not long enough. This bowl is just a little taller than the other one. I can secure it with just the wing nut but no washer. Will that be ok? Is there a way to make the center screw longer? I tried to turn it but it didn't turn. Can a longer replacement be purchased.
Thanks, Andrea

Thanks, Andrea I've got the UV18 and there is quite a bit of bolt that is above the bowl and lid so I'm a bit puzzled about your 10mb. It's pretty new is it not? Try contacting the seller or thumlers before trying to get a longer shaft. I've heard the people at thumlers are pretty good to deal with. If you bought from the rock shed they're very helpful. EDIT TO ADD ... check that the new bowl goes down all the way onto the foam rubber pad. Just thought that maybe the hole could have some flash in it and might hang up on the threads of the rod therefore not going all the way down.

I got the 10mb in October and have only run a couple of batches in it since I was waiting for the polish only bowl. It came last week. Here is a picture of the top secured only with the wing nut. As you can see there is no room for the washer. It's been running all night this way and seems to be ok. I just don't want it to damage the bowl by not using the washer..…it has to be there for a reason. I'll make a phone call tomorrow to see if anything can be done. I took the bowl off and put it back on, it seems to be sitting on the rubber pad the way it's supposed to. Thanks, Andrea

I just had a thought. I tightened the wing nut tighter hoping it will compress the foam around the edge of the cover and maybe then I can use the washer. Thanks, Andrea

Just guessing about the washer ... mine has rubber glued to the side that goes against the lid. Probably serves two purposes. Cushion so the nut does not wear into the plastic of the lid and as sort of a lock once it's all tightened down. Again just guessing but it is probably OK to run without the washer. But if your like me I'd want it there because it's supposed to be. Hope the calls get you some help and happy tumbling.
