I will flat lap them, sand and then polish them and then do some more. I really don't do much once i get them polished except fondle and look at them. I have several of the bottom one cut and may make a few cabs, it has been a few years since I made any and need to get back to it.

I have a 30 inch flat lap and use 180 grit and water. It was an old industrial lap.

I lap out saw cuts with the lap and then go to a bull wheel for sanding, 100, 220, 400 grit.
