I made a couple of Points today the brown on is from a beer bottle which I am so happy with I had got most of the concave out and the gray one is from OB. I am dissapointed in my self with this one I had a nice one and should have left it and hit it a couple more times to thin it and lost some of it lets just say it didn't turn out like I wanted it. the one in beetween these two ended up in the trash I hit it way too hard and shattered it.

Nice. So you're doing percussion and not pressure?

Thanks everyone. Phil on the bottle used a stone at the beggining then pressure, the OB I did about the same but had to get it from a chunck of OB I don't have any boppers so I found a couple of stones that seem to work. my husband said he will make me some bobbers when he gets time. I am not sure when that will be though he never has extra time..LOL

You got it ! Knapper status for sure. Very impressive. Maybe you should stick to your present method...

They look nice. Stock up on band aids and superglue for those tiny cuts you're sure to get in your fingers. Rick B

Very cool. I just took a class in flint knapping through the Quartzsite Gem and Mineral club. It is fascinating and I might be hooked (geez like I need another hobby...not...lol)

LOL drocknut that's what I thought too when I started this but my husband didn't bring my saw and cab machine in the garage and it's way to cold outside so I thought I would find sonething else to do It makes a heck of a mess but it is so much fun and very rewarding.

I wrapped the glass bottle one what do you think. I took the sharpness off it so I can wrap it.

Reminds me of drinking root beer out of a bottle. They're very pretty, sharp too.

That looks really great. WTG thinking to dull it a bit so it can be worn without cutting an artery.

Fossilman, if you're going to try knapping, you have plenty of natural glass out there. Should be plenty of obsidian for you to work on. Rick B
