We had our 15 year old Pug put to sleep this morning. He was deaf, loosing his sight, getting down in his hips and slowly loosing weight, so we couldn't bear to put off our pain of loosing him at the expense of his pain. Most Pugs only live an average of 12 years, so he had a good life and was spoiled rotten every minute of it from 7 weeks old until today. We named him Geronimo because he was a fearless little pup, then added the Toekiller after he started attacking our feet like a cat. He delighted in stealing socks and playing with them, so I would pull mine partially off and let him tug on it until it came free and he carried it away like a trophy. I'm not ashamed to admit I cried like a girl in the vets office and all the way home. I thought I was ready to type this, but guess I wasn't He will be sorely missed and never forgotten. RIP Geronimo Attached Images

I have not had a pet since I had to put one down and cried for a couple of days. Tears right now because it is a tough sad day for the strongest of people male or female.
Sorry for your loss but don't let one really bad day spoil 12 years of awesome memories. We all have a life expectancy, it just so happens that theirs is shorter than ours. Jim

Jim Thanks. we have 5 more Pugs to spoil. Geronimo was the oldest at 15 and Ollie and his sister, Sugar are close behind at 13. We expect to have to let them go in another year or so as Ollie is almost blind and has arthritis in his hips really bad. Sugar is the most devoted dog I've ever seen and will lie on the rug by the door until I return. Gonna be even harder to let her go than it was Geronimo

I have a Pug. Her name is Sadie Mae, southern folks go by two names you know. Anyway she is 8 now. I feel your pain on your Geronimo leaving. I dread that day with Sadie Mae..... She is my health service dawg, she lowers my blood pressure.
Geronimo I think they are waiting for you little pardner.... It's time for your wings to be fitted!!!!!

Condolences to you radio. Dogs should out live us, they are the most loyal creature. Give them your best and look back knowing that.

With all respect due to our dearly departed, perhaps a smile is in order.

they break your heart when they leave you, always leave you too soon, but I wouldn't enjoy life nearly as much without a critter. I dread the day I have to give up keeping a dog or a cat. They leave us such wonderful memories to remember them by. We tell stories about long gone pets and smile again all over, re-living the moment. They make you laugh, they become part of your family; they are companions, clowns, protectors, servants, playmates, soul mates, imperious dictators, annoying, stinky, cuddly, and and so much more. Sorry for your loss.
