I did this backwards, I've been posting already without formally introducing myself. Anyway, I am new to rock tumbling, just started my first batch Feb. 16, 2015 in a Thummlers AR-2. It's turning out great so far. I then had the itch to do something with the rocks once they're tumbled. Wire-wrapped pendants popped into my mind and then as I went for information on it, I saw the wire-wrapping forum here. I thought, wow, perfect! Rock tumbling AND wire wrapping and so much more all here on this forum.
I'm from Cape May County, NJ, and besides spending time with my family, I love reading novels (good classics especially), sitting outside reading those novels actually, tending to my flowers in the summer (while taking a break from reading, lol) playing piano, astrology, and now rock tumbling and wire wrapping. I love love love the wrapping. As of today I'm on maybe my 9th wrap. I've posted pics of the first few.
I have not taken any classes, read books on wire wrapping or even read or watched a video of any internet tutorial. The ONLY tutorial I have studied so far is the one here, Bikerrandy's wire wrapping tutorial. That is the only one. It is so good and I like that style anyway, so it's perfect for me. Everyone on this forum seems very cool and I'm happy to be here.

Welcome to the forum, Kathy. I like gardening too. I just don't like when the southerners post pictures of their gardens while we're still freezing our butts off.

Welcome to the forum Kathy. Just like you I found the this place while learning to tumble and that led to cabbing then to wire wrapping. Lots of great people here that's for certain.

Hi Kathy, welcome. Me too - found this site two years ago after starting to tumble. I had recently remodeled my bathroom and painted it a certain shade of green and my new GF and I collected green beach pebbles to make a accent piece. Two years later were married and our lives are dominated by rocks haha multiple cabbing machines and small saws and large saws and piles of rough arranged "artfully" around front and back yards. In other words you have the bug and you are doomed in a good way of course.

Welcome from California! I like to read, garden, play with rocks, and make jewelry, too. Tumbling is too complicated for me.

Haha, yes, I went to wire wrapping only a week after my first tumble! Now I want my husband to start cutting some rough rocks (I now buy from Rock Shed verryyy often) with his tile saw! I know that I will eventually want to possibly start to cab my own stuff because I can only wire wrap certain tumbles, and I like the feeling of doing everything myself..it is totally addicting, what you can do with rocks and crystals!
Thanks to you all for the welcome!
