No laughing! I'm just glad they came out roundish lol. Tried cabbing for the first time by taking a class at the local rock shop and thoroughly had a great time! Now its time to start saving for a machine! yikes! The first is self collected agate out of Eureka, UT that Fossilman was kind enough to slab for me last year. The second is a piece of dino bone. Can't get enough of dino bone, really cool stuff! The third is some type of marble. Thanks to all who post their creations and have been willing to share their knowledge throughout the forum. It really helps us noobs!

Great job!! I love the agate and dino bone. I am just learning to cab also...I'm teaching myself. I wish I could take a class. I tried working on a flat lap and didn't have much luck, although some people make great cabs on flat laps.

Delo, It looks like you're off to a good start. Keep up the good work. If you get down to Cedar City, we've got great agate around town. Lynn

Beautiful! My favorite is the dino bone, but all of them are perfectly done.

You are off to a great start. The last one I believe is snake print jasper. I found some of that stuff in Utah.

You are off to a great start. The last one I believe is snake print jasper. I found some of that stuff in Utah. I looked up snake print jasper and that's exactly what it is! Thanks for the help identifying it! If thats from Utah then I think there is very similar material found elsewhere. I bought 40 pounds of "snake print jasper" from a guy in Tennessee that was mining it on his own property a couple years ago. I bought it to tumble but it was too darn soft and miserable to work with so I made a few cabs and I think the rest is still boxed up somewhere. Here is the Tennessee version That dino bone cab is killer and your off to an awesome start at this. Chuck

If you have moderate skills you can build your own machine......I did.....the most expensive parts were the diamond wheels.....I pit a total of 700 or so dollars into my build.....half the cost of a new genie ...........just a thought
