Time is running out to do show prep for our show next weekend so I figured I better see how much mixed rock tumbles I have on hand and figure out how I want to display them this year. I did not realize I had almost 60 pounds sitting around that has not been put on our etsy store yet. We dumped all the bags on a 6ft table and boy was it fun to play in that pile of goodies. I might build one large tray because they look so cool all in one place. Of course these are just the mixed rock. I'll have plenty of trays of dedicated batches too. This is about 18-20 loads in the loto (sorry about the poor lighting in the basement) Thanks for looking Chuck

Being into lapidary is tacit to having 1000 unfinished projects. I'd say you have exceeded that estimate, but deserve commendation for your excess. Congratulations. Certificate of recognition is in mail (or not). Tom

Super cool!
I thought about doing the same thing last night but not until I was almost finished bagging up about 8 Lot-o loads for my husbands elementary schools science night. I wish now that I had laid all of the tumbles on the table and photographed them before we gave them all away. I know they were for the children when I was tumbling them, but I do miss them. Next year I'll have a picture!

I want to pick them up by the handful, and let them slide through my fingers like sand. Then I want to look at them each individually!

I have to say that I didn't have an urge to sleep on them, but they do look fun to play in. You might have to rent an additional table just for your tumbled stones.

wow, what a haul, and you have EVERYTHING in them! yeah, I would like to be there watching when people approach your display table. The invitation to play is right there: look at the response you got on the forum. Watching people at the show interacting with these would be a lot of fun. ( Take pictures!) I agree with Orrum and Riverrock, but I wouldn't share!!!

A mighty stash of tumbles has 'aroused' interest. And it's legal ! Rock lovers to the extreme. Are you sure that you are up to selling those jewels Chuck ?

Even at $10 a pound that's only about $500 and it sure looks like more work then that when its all laid out. I keep a handful of favorites out of every batch that go into my large wicker basket of special tumbles. That basket has about 40 pounds in it now. Chuck

A photo of your secret stash would be in order here, now that you have discussed it! (subtle hint!)

I understand. Tumbles are hard work. Like selling your loved ones. Look at them as learning trials, so you can polish cabs and wraps safely that do make good money. And make space for more tumbles ha.

Just the way they should be shown. Great attention getter at any show.
Great work on the tumbles.

What a great picture. First thing I thought of was what a cool acrylic (whatever) type table or counter top that would make with all those tumbles embedded within.

I've thought about making a coffee table, but I'd make one with a removable glass top, so I could change the rocks inside. I think someone on here did that a couple years ago.

That's an even better idea. I spend too much time polishing these rocks to be pouring epoxy over them. If I were going that route I would only tumble them to 120 grit then pour the epoxy.

That is a huge pile of beauty. If your wife doesn't read this forum Chuck, can you tell us what you estimate your annual budget for this hobby is? I wanna know how bad it can get before it is too late, LOL!
