I thought it would be fun to make a cab that (somewhat) looked like an Easter egg. This is what I came up with. I'm going to groove wrap this for a pendant. Material is lemon chrysoprase, rhodonite, thulite, malachite, and goldstone. It is 1 7/8" tall.
I want to make another one. Any ideas on stones with pastel colors that will take a fairly good polish? Thanks for looking.

WOW. That is fantastic, really great craftmanship, could you write a description of how you cut all those tiny angled pieces please, I really want to have a go at that.

I scanned a couple of pages of a 60's Gems & Minerals magazine that tells how to do this. I will attach those pages to a PM if the RTH program lets me do it. Later.................Oops! I spoke too soon. I don't see the old "PM" icon that used to be by your avitar - I guess they did away with the old PMs. I also tried attaching the scans to this post, but it says "file too big (1 meg max)". Sorry.

Very nice Garry. I think gem silica or rose quartz would work well for an easter egg.
