Well, last weekend the weather was real nice so we went out looking around on Sunday. This one was more of a driving around exploring trip than a collecting trip but we still managed to come home with a pretty good mess of rocks. Looking the other way. Obligatory cracked windshield shot. Now for you folks in the rest of the country, this is one of our interstate highways. The pickup is in Montana and the road is taking us to that flatter ground in the distance which happens to be Wyoming. Makes this an interstate, correct? Kind of weathered on the surface, but I'll probably go back and check out this outcrop a little more. There is more of this exposed on the hillside. I think this would look good in the backyard, but I'm still not supposed to lift over 15 pounds. A couple of pieces from near the above outcrop. Took the pics after we got home. Just some more scenery. Just another rock. A small slab from one of the rocks we brought home that day. That's it for now. Thanks for looking. Except for the rock pics I took at home, the others are all in Montana. Russ

Great trip, thanks for taking us along. Don't you hate that 15 lb limit? I have the same limit for life, just means more trips back to the car along with smaller rocks. Still fun to do. I looked at those first photos and thought to myself, where would you even start? How would you know what you had covered already in your search? I never realized how much I depend on the shoreline or roadside to mark the areas I cover in my searches. How would you ever find a location if you wanted to go back for more of a certain material? 6 paces to the left of that taller bit of brush??? So interesting to see what you find and learn more about how you find it! Thanks for the show. (by the way, there are never too many pictures in any thread!)
