Has anybody here used the Gy-Roc cabber? linkIf so, how do you like it, and how reliably can it help produce well calibrated cabs? I mostly do free-form, but I often enough have requests for calibrated ones that I'd like to "cheat" a little bit. Any tips on how to use it or make it work better? In case it matters, I have an 8" Cab King as my grinder/polisher. Thank you! Jeff

I have not set mine up yet - but this device is for doming. It has little to do with calibrated size. You can get a device that will let you automate trimming from Graves. But it uses template blanks plus a multiplier (i.e, arm length setting) to determine final size. If you wanted an exact mm, you would need to set the arm just right.

I meant for doming. I have no problem getting the size correct.

ok, I'm not used to using "calibrated" for domes, just for outline. There are several settings that let you get low or med or high dome. I think it will work best for symmetrical stones where the long axis of the stone is vertical to the wheel.
