More of this cool purple rock, id'd more or less as a jasper of some sort. Here's all of the latest batch I picked up 'hounding yesterday: This one has little bits of metal in it and turned my saw's oil purple: This has kind of a brecciated look to it: This looks more like an agate than jasper with all the clear quartz: This is my favorite of the bunch:

Those are nice, timloco! Do you cab, tumble, or polish slabs? Those would look sweet with a shine on 'em. Are you planning on taking some of your material to get zapped when the XRF arrives?

Yea I plan on cabbing some of this for sure. I have a cabbing machine and I've been messing with it on and off, I've had some challenges getting my cabs the way I want them. I'm still pretty new to the cabbing hobby and the learning curve has been too steep to run at for very long I kinda set the stones down and walk away for awhile and go back to the tumbling and rockhounding and making more slabs.
Fore sure I plan to zap them this summer, I'd like to go down to the uni and meet some real geologists and talk to them about local rockhounding.

Cool purple slabs, timloco! That first one looks like it might contain hematite.

Please try not to get frustrated with cabbing and ask questions on the forum so members can give you tips or suggestions. I tried to teach myself to cab, and still have a lot to learn.

sweet reds and roses, all of those are great! Would love to see some of them polished, bet they all shine up great, they look dense and solid. Your favorite is mine, too. (tasty, oh yeah!)

I especially like the first slice with the lightening bolts.
