Will see more of that for a while spiritstone. The Atlanta drought of 2007 brought on a surge of people ratting each other out. Seemed like county incentives were awarded to rats in some jurisdictions. The richeys kept watering and paying the fines. Brown Brown Green Brown Greeen Brown Brown Brown Look at me ! I am a green ! I am a richey ! LOL Jones and Smiths end up hating each other. What a soap opera it was. They let them keep their garden ponds filled so my aquatic plant sales were bettered. But my terrestrial plant dealers that stocked my aquatic plants went out of business. So it hurt us all. Green biz went down hill. Cactus sales up ha. Landscapers set off by roadside, many of them went out of business. Worst hit was the poor farmers. They stopped issuing building permits in some areas. Lot of behind the scenes problems w/drought. Well drillers made fortunes. Municipal water industry built up their capacities and new facilities. Lake builders got work.

Drought ? We got a little over 2" of rain in the last 24 hours. Now it's off & on snow. Great big wet flakes up to half dollar size. I'd be happy to share some with you folks in the drought areas.

Atlanta soaked, S. California sure wants it. Hell, we get 4 inches in two hours and it all runs off. Erodes and makes a mess. But, the reservoirs do capture it. An inch falling over a long period wets better.

LOL. Maybe if California stays dry long enough, it'll drive all of the illegals & crooked politicians out in search of water. Make it a decent state to live in again.

Lee, how are you stocks doing in Big Al's Polar Bear Water Wings Inc. Sales must be slow. Reports from the Eskimo's say they are still walking on firm ice. And are haveing wild bear orgy's increasing their numbers. And Al's beach front multi million dollar home is still high and dry. What is Al going to do with all the "dirty oil money" he got for his tv station? A rubberband powered plane would be a good first purchase. A hockey stick is used for "hockey" not predicting climate. Pretty hard to take any climate change science seriously when their top climate soap box preacher is the worlds biggest scam artist. Kinda like the boy who cried wolf to many times. Anyone ever think that Commiefornia's drought problem could be caused by "poor water management, over population, or a natural cycle of the earth? I'm surprised they have not blamed it on fracking. Hahaha ya'll know that some of this is really laughable. OVERPOPULATION!!!! REALLY? The only thing that is going to change overpopulation on this planet is poor people falling over from hunger, well, poor people that haven't learned to scrounge good enough which is the present middle class. Another thing I do not get is: The oceans cover the larger portion of the planet and people have almost fished or polluted them to the point where they can not be considered a food source yet those same people will say "there is no damn way we could have damaged the atmosphere". Chinese air pollution has circled the planet and that is just one small piece of the pie. Ya ya ya I know that there is a lot of other crap rising up into the atmosphere but that has been going on forever without our help so when you add the two together WHAM. The planet is heating up (with the exception of a small piece of our north east) faster than it ever has before. People without question will believe in a God myth because someone told them to yet will ignore the science which has done some awesome things like make a metal tube full of people fly all over the planet using really old vegetation and animal matter AND drill ice and soil samples to tell us what went on around the planet for the last million years. We used to have a saying "err on the side of caution" and it used to work. Now the saying is "damn the cost, give me the money". I am very concerned for my children and grand children and now my great grand son. I feel like I have lived through the best and worst years the planet has ever had but we are passing on possibly an insurmountable task of getting their planet back to livable. Maybe they can move to the new plastic continent out in the ocean and live happily ever after. Or not. Please correct all my errors. Jim OVERPOPULATION!!!! REALLY? Yes REALLY!!!!.......A smart farmer never over grazes his pastures. So why do humans do it. If an area is unfit to handle a million people, why would you add 5 million more? Vagus is a prime example. No water but it keeps expanding. Are you going to back the Commiefornia gvt when they try to limit people to one child like Commiechina did. I really wish they would. There would be less eco-nuts and Democrats spawned.

LOL. Maybe if California stays dry long enough, it'll drive all of the illegals & crooked politicians out in search of water. Make it a decent state to live in again. Best read the plants. If cactus and scrub, water is probably sparse. Cattails and horsetail, moisture assured. Sand and rock and no plants-turn around and go back. Flee. Nature is speaking.... Driving thru south Texas a few years back, dead deer, cattle, hogs. They died/were dying a cruel death. The cattle I get, but when wild animals are falling over someone is trying to get your attention. Multiply problem many times when hot and arid. No rain here in Georgia for two weeks, a bit above ave temps. Mature trees require over 10 gallons per hour at full sun hot days. 200-300 gallons per day. My small creeks and streams slow to half flow in the hot afternoons. Back to full flow in morning. That is caused by the trees. Creeks in shade in heavy forest, so not likely surface evaporation. Multiply an easy 50 trees per acre, 200 gallons X 50 = 10,000 gallons per day. Takes a lot of water. Gotta have water.

It is really sad that the comedians are giving the public the real story and the main stream news outlets are washing it diligently with bleach like the fat cat owners want. IT IS ALL ABOUT GREED, POWER AND MONEY AND IT IS KILLING US ALL. Jim

hahaha I have no doubt that if they want to find me they will. I am on a Verizon jet pack for internet that was bought in Southern CA but I pay my bill here and they can see where I am entering the net. And I am sure it wouldn't take much of a threat to get the lady who lives at the address I use to tell them where I am parked.
Not purposely hiding from anyone though. Just the way I happen to be living at this time. Well, that and the fact that I have no desire to look at a screen smaller than my hand when I can look at my laptop or have a remote keyboard on my lap in front of a 26 inch TV. No TV on my TV but I can compute big. Plus, I buy 300 minutes for my phone about every two months so it is costing me 15 bucks a month. Leaves me some extra money to buy junk like Oreos, saw blades, polishing stuff and malachite. That reminds me, I need to order some stuff. Jim

Here is something cool I wanted to share. If you would like to see 30 years of time lapse of any where in the world, even where you live, here is a program from google. The clear cutting of green spaces are unbelievable the last 30 yrs, as they make way for urban sprawl. Just click on "Explore the world" and you can go to any place you want. world.time.com/timelapse/

The detectives find culprits by following the money trail. For instance a spouse who murders their partner for beneficiaries or insurance pay outs. A perfect example of the shear evil motivation of greed. Like Jesus said about casting the first stone, perfect wisdom, no one is innocent. Me and you included. Greed is in all of us.
Never simple, unions bust corporations ?? or corporations abuse workers ?? Both did. Each case a judgement call-ha-who does the judging ?? Guess it depends on which side of the fence you stand on. You will certainly get two different judgements.
Corporations got sick of unions and govt labor/pollution regulations-send the production to China/Mexico. Brilliant. Where did that leave our labor force ? Bad shape. Who's fault-unions-govt-corporations-all three and their greed and stupidity. Corporations have the most money, therefore ways and means, labor force lost their ass in the end. NO-USA lost their ass. Now we a bumbling mess. With no jobs. And China has enough nuclear reactors to probably out produce us 10 to 1. Selling their products to us at a loss and beating us down using-our own greed to buy cheaper. Lulling us into hypnosis. Meantime building a massive manufacturing monster. Ha, we get what we deserve. They have out smarted us. Greed makes ya stupid. So does agenda and ego. Selfish bunch we are. Paying for it big now.
Easy to sit back and arm chair judge a fight. China watched us bicker while they built their monster right in front of us.
Good to see the discussion of greed.

The clear cutting of green spaces are unbelievable the last 30 yrs, as they make way for urban sprawl. Just click on "Explore the world" and you can go to any place you want. world.time.com/timelapse/Excellent piece. 30 years effect, amazing. Resources being used up and water level rising in the ocean, fresh water dropping. World's a changing spirit. Florida has a lot of buildings on canals. Ole water keeps creeping higher and higher. Septic tanks staying wetter than they used to. Storm surges becoming worse due to elevated water in ocean. Some say man caused it, some say it is natural. Point arguable. But the water keeps rising. Arguments not stopping it. It just keeps slowly creeping up regardless. No different than building a city in the middle of the desert, ocean frontage is the opposite extreme. Too much water. 70 years ago you could not give ocean front property away. My Grandfather was offered 2 miles of ocean front on (resort) Amelia Island FL. for little of nothing. He laughed at them, "who is stupid enough to live on the beach". Generations of my family saw the hurricanes pommel the beach and 300 yards inland for years. Now(correction 'always have been') the beaches are eroding into the ocean, ha, taking beachfront properties with them. Mansions included. Florida not letting them rebuild. Insurance companies not allowed to insure them. Build at own risk. A great move, so tax payers do not have to pay for the rich SOB's poorly placed building. Old Florida crackers amused at the stupidity of such beach front development. Hurricane Francis came across L. George a few years back and snapped of 24 inch trees at shore like toothpicks. Neighbors asked why I set my camp 600 feet away from the shore. Francis answered that question. Out of 200 shoreline residences, I was the only one that set back so far from the shore. Granted I don't have a view, that's OK, I have a 2nd deck out there to sit at(first one got washed away).

jamesp, in your last two posts you have summed up the deepest problems that this country has and probably the world. You have a very good grasp of, and the ability to put into words, how things are instead of sitting and blaming this person or that person for our situation. It is way broader than "Obummer sold us down the river" and it started way before any of us were born. Some just helped it along a little more than others.
I have tried damn hard throughout my life to live without greed. What I have and how I live is a pretty good indication of that. I live in an 8 X 22 foot dwelling and yet I recycle aluminum cans, plastic, plastic grocery bags for the Habitat for Humanities store, batteries and I am trying to figure out a way to add paper. It is inconvenient but I see it as a necessity and it chaps my ass when people that live in big houses do not recycle because they do not have the room to do it. Maybe I should buy shoes two sizes too small so I do not leave such a big foot print. Okay, that is probably taking it one size too far. I still feel that I am not doing enough but not to the point of trying to save a fish at the expense of feeding the population.
Five years ago I gave away everything I had except my vehicle and what fit in two suitcases and a carry on. Family and life put a screeching halt to that and now I have way too much stuff again. How much is enough and how much is too much? ? ? ? ?
I could have more money and more stuff if I would get out and sell the things I make but I hate selling!!!! I have no idea where the line would be drawn between survival and greed. How much comfort is needed to reach the point of greed? I have some things that I certainly could live without so does that make me greedy? I don't know. There are people in the world that would probably think I am greedy because they have nothing but on the other side of the coin there are a lot of people that would think I am barely surviving or not really surviving at all.
I really do not get how someone can be so afraid of being poor that a billion dollars is not enough. And they will never be happy because there will never be enough. This mentality along with the power thing is killing us all. They are killing themselves but do not have sense enough to see that. Things will be okay if I make a million, no, a billion, no, a trillion dollars more.
Where will it end? Don't have a clue. If I had something to bet I would bet on "oh shit". Jim
