forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/806425/threadthis post has got me wondering if you can use a 301 on a tile saw at rotation speeds of around 3400 why can't you use one on a 10" rock saw with oil? I recently got a 301 blade from John (JS Gems) and am loving it previously I was using the 303 but found them not up to par for the amount of agate I cut. The motor I'm using is a 3/4hp @ 1725 rpm so I could step this up with pulleys to obtain the 3400rpm range. Can anyone see a reason that this can't or shouldn't be done? BTW this was my first purchase from JS and was very impressed with his help and products definitely be using his services from now on.

Tile saws for little stuff is fine, but for bigger cuts I just don't trust them for the job-way to loud too for my taste.... My opinion though...........

I wouldn't expect expensive lapidary blades to last very long at the high RPM's of a tile saw.
