I spent most of my free time this week working on cars and sneaking in a cab or two when I could. The shapes on a few are a bit..wonky..all but the kaleidascope were completely free-hand, which seemed like a good idea at the time-but there was beer involved.. Pet wood - this thing took a great polish Malachite and Azurite with cuprite (I think..) Kaleidascope Jasper 1 Kaleidascope Jasper 2 Shattuckite Lapis - if you drink 3-4 beers, the shape of this is freaking AWESOME! Chrysoprase - this thing is beautiful in person. It tapers from 2.5mm to 1.5mm thick, back to front. Delicate cab. All these next ones are Turkish pseudo-morph & stick agate. Stick 1 Stick 2 Stick 3 Stick 4 Saturday I had my slab saw running all day long. I posted some photos on the "Slabs and Saws" page. These next two "cabs" are the two end-cuts from one of agates I slabbed. It is pretty stone and I didn't want to scrap the ends so I cabbed them lol End-cut 1 - have a few small sratches to get out..I see NOW =\ End-cut 2 Finished all my to-do-list items, cut a lot of rough, drank beer, made cabs, and had "date night" with the Mrs. It was a good weekend Hope everyone's was as well! I don't know.... I think ALL your shapes look pretty good and I'm sober at the moment. LOL!
I'm going with the chrysoprase- I almost thought it was a prenite until I saw the dendrites.
Sounds like you had a great weekend- good on ya!!!

I don't think I've ever seen dendritic chrysoprase before. Too cool. Nice work.

Those are great! The chrysoprase is my favorite - do you know which locality it's from? The only stuff I've been able to get my hands on is pretty milky. Yours is beautifully translucent, almost transparent, and the dendrites are the cherry on top!
I also like the lace end cut a lot - the combination of polished but rough works really well on that stone.

Nice set. I'd like to see one of the pet wood that shows the stone, liquid shine though, & the Malachite is especially nice.

Yours is beautifully translucent, almost transparent, and the dendrites are the cherry on top!. It is from Australia but I don't know what specific area. I stumbled into a few small, but nice pieces of rough and wish I had found more of it. It is really nice in person.
