It does look nice. If you are using a cabbing machine, there are limits. I have had some luck with the soft wheels.
I think a Dremel-type tool or a flex-shaft is what may be used commercially.
Good luck.

I work the "V" off the edge of my grinding and sanding wheels. You can get the shape a bit deeper than shown up to a 90 degree arc from one side of the "V" to the other. I use a small flex shaft grinding wheel and sanding wheels to get a depressed groove from the bottom of the "V" towards the center of the heart shape. It is a bit of a chore to get the tapered girdle sanded around the lobes on the "V" but with care and patience it can be done. Here is one that I made from Brazilian Agate. The "V" is as deep as I can get by using the edge of the wheels. This one id 3" tall. I got some of a groove down from the "V". Bob

I'm guessing mine will look similar to yours when i'm done.

Beautiful hearts, glennz01 and bobby1! What material is the heart, Glenn? Beautiful stuff! Is it for your mom for Mothers Day? mohs™ Ed kindly sent me a green wheel (SC) a couple of years ago to use for difficult cuts, and you can use your dremel tool and wheels as others have advised.

I started playing with the outside edges of the wheels and that may be a kea for me. I don't have the polishing dremel bits.
The stone is mexican sagenite palm wood.
Thanks for the tips.
whenever I finish it i'll post a pic.

Just finished. I only used my caber an not dremel.. time consuming but it can be done. My picture does a bad job at showing the polish Also the large crack looking thing is not a crack... it used to have been but it is all minerals now... the only crack is in the bottom if you look hard. Never noticed the color difference until now (on the fossilized crack since I don't know what to call it)

Your heart cab is beautiful, glennz01! Nice work, and amazed that you were able to cab the difficult area on your wheels.
