There's a new football player in town, and he's fifty-nine years young. He's currently on the team at Sul Ross State University which is located in Alpine (think Woodward Ranch), Texas. Don't know if he will make it through the season, but right now he's giving those young'uns a run for their money. Good excuse to go collect rocks at the ranch and take in a ball game afterwards.

You aint old 'till you believe you're old. I, myself may have gotten older but I refuse to grow up. He gets my vote!

I love to hear stories like that. I totally agree with Stone Wizard. I know people who have reached 40-50 years old and believe they can't do anything anymore. These aren't people with real physical problems either. Terry

Good for him. I'm a 45 year old college student but lucky for me my university doesn't have a football team. I feel I'm in the same or better shape than 10 years ago. I now exercise 3 days a week and can still jump and touch a basketball rim. Hope I can still do that at 59. Now back to rocks.

Great for him, I'm 51 and still work out along side my Karate Students. I have been at Martial Arts since 1970 (when I had more hair and less waistline) but I still do the same pushups, kicks, and sweat the same sweat they do. I often make the joke at some of the kids class that I am older than 4 of them put together. It's great fun and I teach at our Church for a non profit class. If you have not tried it volunteering is a great thing to do.
