I'm going to be in western Wyoming near Jackson soon. A long way from my east coast home. I'll be spending most of my time in the national parks, so no rock hunting there, but I was wondering if anyone knows of nearby places or rock shops that would be worthwhile to visit for a small bit of collecting.
I would love to visit the yellowstone river in Montana, but I'm likely not going to get that far north.
Google isn't giving me much help, but I expect there should be plenty of opportunities in the area.

When you visit Yellowstone Park, head down towards Livingston, following the Yellowstone River...Many pullouts along the river to park a car and or RV-go out and hound the gravel bars!!! That's what I do,found nice beauties in that area..Thumbs up

Look up Turritella agate it's supposed to be 3asy to find. Go to the Bighorn national park and look at the Bighorn river canyon, it's the Wyoming grand canyon! Plus there are Pryor Mountain mustangs!

Southwest Wyoming, heck yeah!
Turritella, Stromatolite, blue forest pet wood, if you don't mind springing some cash check out Kemmerer fish fossils.
