Since the roads were flooded this morning, I stayed home today and smoked a brisket, and mowed grass, and mowed grass and mowed grass and just kept on mowing grass it seemed! stuff was so tall I shoulda raked and baled it
Being as the brisket was a 14 pound packer, I decided to separate the point and the flat to do some burnt ends. It's been way too long since I did some and they were stupendously good! I cut up some of the flat to add to the smoked baked beans for an extra treat and had some fresh Arkansas maters to go with.
no pics. was way too danged hungry to mess with a camera!

Smoked burnt ends-your driving us crazy!!! SOoooo good!!!! sorry took some for lunch today and even microwaved they were darned tasty. Think I'll make some mashed potatoes this evening and make a gravy from the drippings to go over 'em... Mmmmmm!

Yum! Love that brisket. When we have the cowboy BBQ here on the ranch every year, they usually have brisket left over and I always buy a bunch and eat it for lunches for days after...Mel
