Those are beautiful Chuck. That last picture of the group is visually stunning. How high are the domes on those and is a high dome required to achieve the bulls-eyes or is it all about the orientation of the slab cut?

Thanks TommyGetting a the bullseye look can be a challenge. Keep in mind that even at the 280 nova wheel the pattern still changes every time you press into it. It can be frustrating when you get cool colors and pattern then loose it. The best chance for a bullseye would be a section with nice flat parallel layers. I just took this photo that kinda of explains it. This also shows the beginning of my layout and prep work. The area at bottom left is best and the angled are would be my second choice. The one in the center of this photo may have been my best centered bullseye Chuck

I like the first one! So if you have a 1/4 inch piece, I have 3. Then by the time I get it domed I will gave a potato chip? I found these in a scrap box I bought.

Those are all definitely awesome- especially that dead on bull's eye. Thank you so much for your graphic. I haven't cut mine, yet. That'll prove helpful. You are most generous.

You are most generous. What comes around goes around is not always a bad thing. Iv'e witnessed your willingness to teach on many occasions over in the wrap section Chuck

Psychedelic! Gorgeous Fordite and love the group shot with the rough, Drummond Island Rocks! After reading your instructions on how to cut the material, I wanted to ask you if the rough is cut similarly to Bat Cave jasper?

After reading your instructions on how to cut the material, I wanted to ask you if the rough is cut similarly to Bat Cave jasper? I had to google Bat Cave jasper because I had never heard of it but yeah I suppose if you want a symmetrical pattern from any material the has colored layers you need to cut it similar to what I showed above. Getting fordite that has large flat areas can be a challenge though. Most was stuck to smaller frame rails so there is not much flat area before it makes a turn if that makes sense? Chuck
